With just a few days left before Trimet’s June 13 Board meeting, it’s crunch time! We need as many people as possible to come out to the board meeting to express support for the Bus Riders Unite Budget Alternative which reflects some of the best ideas from TriMet’s proposal and smart ideas from our bus rider members. Here’s how you can get involved:
Wed June 13 Rally for the Buses
8:00am Rally outside Trimet Headquarters (4012 SE 17th Avenue)
8:30am March to Trimet Board of Directors meeting (Advantis Credit Union building at 3717 SE 17th Avenue)
9:00am-11am: Testify at Trimet Board of Directors meeting. Let Board members know how these fare increases will impact your family’s ability to get to work, school, the grocery store, and more.
To prepare for the rally, Bus Riders Unite is organizing a key prep meeting on Tuesday, June 12 to prepare our testimony, to practice our chants, and make art and signs for the rally. This Bus Riders Unite meeting will go from 5pm-8pm at our OPAL office (2407 SE 49th Avenue, Portland, OR).
The June 13 Rally and Trimet Board meeting is a MUST if you want to keep fares affordable and service moving, so let us know we can count on you to be there. Please RSVP by emailing hector@opalpdx.org or calling us at: 503-928-4354 to tell us you can make it June 12 and/or June 13.
